Compnies and institutions gathered together at the 1st British-Polish IT Forum at the Polish Embassy on 20th November 2018 to enhance the benefits of cooperation between Polish and British companies.
Speakers from British companies explained the reasons of choosing Poland for their IT hub , while Polish IT firms showcased some large projects they have undertaken for UK clients in sectors such as AI, VR, healthcare, smart cities, imaging, games, FinTech and insurance.
The networking session was a great opportunity for both British and Polish senior staff from IT companies to meet up and discuss the bright sight of cooperation between these two countries and to pave the way for future partnering collaboration - domestic investments or outsourcing to companies with IT specialists.
Strong work ethics, professionally-skilled workforce with high level of well spoken English, great technical background, tax incentives, small difference in time zones and over 75 000 students majoring in IT and IT-related fields were among the most mentioned reasons for choosing Poland to set up their operations.
“Just 20 years ago Poland was virtually unknown for its technological achievements. But the situation has significantly changed since then and today, we are one of the top software development outsourcing destinations in the world, consistently at or near the top of various rankings. Every day, numerous foreign companies rely on Polish developers to deliver software essential to their bottom line,” said Ambassador of Poland in the UK Arkady Rzegocki.
